Austin City
Austin is the capital of Texas. There is Colorado River and three artificial lakes within this city. The city was named after Stephen Austin who is considered to be the father of Texas. More than 1,5 million people live in this city which makes it the 36th largest area in the United States. Money magazine announced in 2006 that Austin took the second place in "Best City to Live" competition. Residents are known as Austines and these are people of different walks of life: from students to professors, from blue-collar workers to hich-tech workers, etc. This city is famous for its slogan: "The Live Music Capital of the World". But there also exists an unoficcial slogan: "Keep Austin Weird". These words appeared due to the lifestyle of many residents. Today it is possible to meet a lot of people from the third oldest private university here.
About Yale University
The name of the Institution is Yale University. It is one of the members of the Ivy League (was established in 1701) and its endowment is about 21 billion dollars. The major components are College, that offers undergraduate program, professional schools and school of arts and sciences. The number of students is approximately 12 thousand and they have an opportunity to study at more than 400 buildings and be a part of about 40 athletic teams. The programs cover more than 50 disciplines, among them are those in law, music, medicine, science, public health and so on. The color of the university is Yale Blue and Handsome Dan is its mascot. Among famous people who graduated from Yale University are George H. W. Bush, George W. Bush, Karl Carstens, Gerald Ford, Dick Cheney, Henry Baldwin and many others.
